Through a series of modules, you will learn the fundamentals of UX design and production workflows by using practical methodologies and the latest prototyping tool Figma. You will solve business and product design challenges while applying the latest user centered design principles. These include practical UX techniques such as user research, journey mapping, competitive analysis, design thinking, wireframing, prototyping, matrices, personas, and validation testing. You will also begin developing your professional persona by translating projects into case studies to showcase in your portfolio.

Scheduling

A typical week in the 8-week accelerated format:

  • 10 hours of synchronous learning (Online, every Monday and Wednesday, 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.)
  • 2.5 hours of asynchronous learning (At your convenience during a given week)
  • Project-based work and assignments require 15+ hours outside class time
  • Those with little or no prior knowledge will require more time

A typical week in the 20-week format:

  • 4 hours of synchronous learning (Online, every Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.)
  • 1 hour of asynchronous learning (At your convenience during a given week)
  • Project-based work and assignments require 5-8 hours outside class time
  • Those with little or no prior knowledge will require more time

Students will receive 8 hours of career development mentoring from leaders in the Montreal ecosystem.

Work-integrated learning (optional)

Upon successful completion of the coursework, students will complete 120 hours of work-integrated learning.
