Course Code: CECR 1001
Hackers don’t play by the rules. So it’s not always easy for you and your organization to stay protected. In this course, you’ll learn how to protect your business assets by understanding attacker motivations and tactics, and how to assess risk and elaborate strategies to be resilient when you are attacked. You’ll also develop foundational skills with common cyber security methods and tools—like cryptography and identity-access management—and how to integrate them into an existing IT infrastructure. You will also familiarize yourself with the legal and ethical requirements of cyber security to critically explore the effects they have within and organization and on your work. Greater security is within reach and this is the place to start.
*** Note that you will be required to do 5-10 hours of work per week outside of class time. Those with little to no prior knowledge will require more time to gain familiarity with the concepts. ***
