Entrepreneurial internship
The Co-op Entrepreneurial Internship gives eligible Concordia Undergraduate Co-op students the opportunity to spend a 12-week term building their business full-time while qualifying for an approved Co-op work term.
About the internship
Developed in partnership with District 3, Concordia’s entrepreneurial hub, the internship initiative recognizes entrepreneurship as a valuable form of experiential learning.
Undergraduate co-op students put their skills into practice while working toward real business goals, with guidance from entrepreneurship and Co-op professionals.
What you'll do
During your 12-week, full-time internship, you’ll dedicate your time to developing and growing your business. This is a self-directed work term, so it isn’t a paid position; any income comes from your business.
Depending on where you are in your journey, this could include:
- Strategic planning and execution
- Validating your market
- Progressing on your product or service
- Receive mentorship from startup and innovation experts
- Building your customer base and generating traction and/or revenue
- Setting and achieving business and learning goals
- Achievement of agreed-upon work term objectives
You’ll receive structured support from District 3 and Co-op, including bi-weekly meetings with a D3 coach.
What you'll gain
This is more than a chance to work on your own business. It’s an opportunity to develop skills you can carry into your future career, including:
- Entrepreneurship and innovation
- Business development
- Project management
- Problem solving
- Communication and leadership
- Market research and validation
By the end of your work term, you’ll have made meaningful progress on your business while gaining recognized Co-op experience and developing highly transferable professional skills.
