Email for students
The university’s official method for communicating with you is through your Concordia email account, accessed via Outlook, as outlined in the university’s email policy.
Students are required to use their Concordia email address when communicating with the university and should check it regularly, as important academic information and student updates are sent there.
Newly admitted students who register for Fall 2026 courses receive a Concordia email account to use for all communications with the university.
Returning students who currently use a personal email address will be required to switch to their Concordia email for all university communications before September 2026. Learn more about the new email policy.
Your Concordia email account provides access to:
- A university email address for official communications
- Microsoft Outlook email and calendar on the web, desktop and mobile
- Microsoft 365 apps including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.

How to get it?
Access your Concordia email:
- First, set up multi-factor authentication.
- Then, log in to your Outlook inbox using your Concordia email account.

Yes, the Policy on Concordia email accounts for students and employees requires the mandatory use of a Concordia email address by all members of the Concordia community. This policy supports an efficient, effective, and secure means for communications by email.
Your username and password are the same as your Student Hub netname and password. If you have forgotten them, visit the password reset page.
Yes, you have the option to activate an alias address which looks like: firstname.lastname@mail.concordia.ca. Activate the alias here.

Yes, students who graduate from Concordia will be able to continue to use their Concordia email address, and will be able to access it using Outlook on the Web.
If you are logged into any other Microsoft services (live.com, Hotmail, MSN, etc.), you will be unable to login to your Microsoft 365 account at the same time. Ensure you have logged out of these services before attempting to access your Concordia email account. If you are still unable to login, contact the Service Desk.
