Encuentro 2014
June 21-28, 2014

In collaboration with Hemispheric Institute of Performance and Politics, Concordia University will host the 2014 edition of the Encuentro, MANIFEST! Choreographing Social Movements in the Americas.
Held every two years in a different site in the Americas, the Encuentro – part academic conference, part performance festival – fosters experimentation, dialogue and collaboration. The event brings together over 700 delegates to take part in a program of keynote lectures, performances, discussions, visual arts exhibits and hands-on performance workshops.
From June 21 to 28, 2014, scholars, artists, activists and students will unite in Montreal to investigate the aesthetic, social, and choreographic techniques that transform political ideas into collective images, through actions, embodied utterances and ways of being.
