Facilities Management is carrying out electrical maintenance in the Henry F. Hall (H) Building that requires shutting down both the regular and emergency power systems.

To safely complete this work, a building closure is scheduled for Saturday, November 22 from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

During this shutdown:

  • All floors from the second sub-basement through the second floor are expected to reopen at 12 p.m.
  • The fourth floor through the 14th floor will remain closed until 2 p.m.
  • All classrooms, study areas, labs, service points and common spaces located on closed floors will be unavailable.
  • Elevators, ventilation systems, lighting and other electrical services will be offline in affected areas until power is restored.

While Facilities Management will restore access to the lower floors earlier in the day, access to upper floors will remain restricted until it is safe to reopen them. Campus Safety and Prevention Services and Facilities Management teams will be present throughout the shutdown to support the work and help maintain restricted access where required.

Given the Hall Building’s role as a major campus hub, Concordia is making every effort to complete this maintenance as efficiently and safely as possible.
