At its meeting on August 24, 2017, Concordia’s Board of Governors approved the agreement-in-principle reached with STT des métiers de Concordia (FEESP–CSN). The union represents trades workers on the university’s downtown Sir George Williams Campus.

Roger Côté, Concordia’s vice-president of Services, says he’s proud of the effectiveness and commitment of both parties, which led to an agreement between them after meeting just five times.

“Both teams’ diligent, focused and effective deliberations were greatly appreciated,” says Côté. “It allowed them to come to an agreement in a very short period of time.”

The new agreement will come into effect once it is signed.

“We’re pleased that the teams worked so well together and that we were able to move forward with a new agreement so quickly,” said Daniel Rodrigues, president of the trade union, which is affiliated with FEESP-CSN.

Following the signing of the collective agreement by the two parties, which will take place shortly, the documents will be posted on Concordia web pages in English and French.
