Tuition fees for all international students will increase by $254 per 30 credits for the 2012-13 academic year, beginning in September 2012, as determined by the Quebec Ministry of Education, Recreation and Sport.

In addition, there will be a modest increase of 2.4 per cent in the per-credit hour fee charged to undergraduate international students in the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, and to undergraduate and graduate international students in the John Molson School of Business. This increase is equal to the cost-of-living increase for Quebec, as of April 2012.

Tuition fees for international students are calculated based on the fees paid by Quebec students, and an additional fixed amount that varies according to the Faculty and/or course in which the student is registered (this additional fee is called a forfaitaire). The forfaitaire paid by international students is remitted to the Quebec government, which then partially redistributes the amount among all universities in the province.
