Managing up isn’t about managing your boss – it’s about taking ownership, communicating clearly, and making work easier for everyone around you. In this workshop, you’ll learn how high performers manage expectations, give strong updates, stay organized, and solve problems proactively. These skills help you build trust fast – even early in your career.

Students will be able to:

  • Explain what “managing up” means and why it matters early in careers
  • Demonstrate accountability through clear updates and follow‑through
  • Use structured update tools (e.g., 4‑bullet update)
  • Take initiative and solve problems proactively
  • Apply high‑performer habits in school, work, and hybrid environments

Facilitator: Andrea Taylor, Lead, FutureBound Program
