Professional communication doesn’t come with a handbook — and expectations often feel unclear or inconsistent. In this workshop, you’ll learn how communication really works in professional environments, across email, chat, meetings and virtual spaces. Through practical tools, real examples and hands‑on practice, you’ll build the skills to communicate clearly, ask thoughtful questions, share effective updates, and adapt your style to different teams and situations. You’ll leave with practical tools you can use right away in co‑op, internships and early career roles.

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Recognize how communication norms vary across teams, tools and professional contexts
  • Select appropriate communication channels (email, chat, meetings, calls) for different situations
  • Write clear, professional emails using simple, repeatable structures
  • Apply BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front) to written and verbal communication
  • Adapt tone, level of detail and messaging for different audiences (peers, supervisors, clients)
