It is impossible to escape public speaking! Whether you are called to speak in front of audiences of two or two thousand, it is vital to develop this essential communication skill and effectively express yourself in all contexts. In this set of workshops – ideal for speakers at all levels – we will dispel common public speaking myths, provide useful tips to conquer fear and help you meaningfully connect with your audiences in-person and online.

In Part 1, you will practice informal daily public speaking skills that you can apply immediately in-person, on-camera and even on phone calls.

You will learn:

  • How to find and use your authentic voice
  • Strategies to channel fear and anxiety to enhance your performance
  • Tips to connect with your audience to effectively inform and inspire
  • Strategies to feel confident in spontaneous public speaking situations

Facilitator: Rosalia Felice, Senior Advisor, Professional and Corporate Education, School of Continuing Studies, McGill University
