Join us for a live podcast recording of Iron Ring from Women In Engineering (WIE). This episode will focus on Nadia Bhuiyan's journey through school, the decisions she made to become a professor and Vice Provost at Concordia.

They will discuss the stigma and hardships she experienced as a woman studying engineering in the 90's and what it's like being a professor in a male dominated field. Hosts Emily Phillipp and Emilia Ventulieri will ask Nadia advice she can offer to future and present women engineers.

About the Speaker

Nadia Bhuiyan

Bhuiyan is Vice-Provost, Partnerships and Experiential Learning, Professor, Mechanical, Industrial and Aerospace Engineering at Concordia University.

Her research focuses on product development processes, dealing with the design, development, production, and distribution of goods and services, with a focus on emerging tools and techniques for integrating design and manufacturing to improve process performance. After joining the university in 2002 as assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical, Industrial and Aerospace Engineering, Nadia Bhuiyan became associate director of CIADI in 2003, and the director of education of CIADI in 2015. She was promoted to associate professor in 2008 and professor in 2014, serving as director of the Master of Aerospace Engineering program from 2008-2010.
