As student-facing professionals, creating the best student experience possible is always top of mind. Incorporating equity and inclusion into the ways we think about and deliver student services, resources and programs has significant impacts on how connected students feel to the university and the supports available to them.

This session offers an open and interactive space for student-facing professionals to explore what it means to foster a culture of inclusivity in a variety of educational settings and service delivery contexts. Join us as we explore ways to build equity into our daily work and practice.

Learning objectives:

Through activities and discussion of scenarios, participants will learn to:

  • Unpack concepts such as equity, diversity, accessibility and inclusion.
  • Appreciate the diverse perspectives and experiences of student community members.
  • Recognize and challenge barriers to inclusion.
  • Create and advocate for equitable and inclusive environments through promising practices and approaches.
