In this workshop, you will be introduced to a number of hands-on techniques for collecting, cleaning, and storing seeds from the garden including both wet and dry processing. But also, importantly, we will discuss in more detail how to select which plants you want to save seeds from. With the climate in flux, and our garden season becoming less predictable, some of our past favourite garden varieties are struggling to keep up. But with the careful eye of a local gardener, we can help these cultivars to adapt by selecting seeds from the individuals who are still thriving under these difficult conditions. To this end we will delve into what are the specific conditions in our own gardens, and learn to select for the traits that will make our plants thrive in our spaces.
