Thinking. Writing. Making.

We offer a PhD in English Literature as well as a Master’s in English. The PhD in English Literature will deepen your mastery of period, and area-specific archives and develop your skills as a literary scholar. You will study literatures in English with a focus on interdisciplinary exchanges and cross-cultural environments.

At the master’s level students can choose between English Literature and Creative Writing. The English Literature options allow you to explore your interest in literary texts of all kinds, including poetry, fiction, non-fiction, digital writing, and even video games. The Creative Writing option allows you to hone your abilities in the company of other writers.

Interested and have questions about our programs?

Join Kevin Pask, PhD, the Graduate Program Director for a discussion about the research opportunities, the admission requirements for the master's and PhD programs, as well as the opportunity to have your questions answered.
