Times of transition and change which we may experience individually or collectively are often challenging

In this interactive workshop, participants will explore self-compassion as an inner resource for navigating transition and associated difficulties with self-kindness and non-judgmental acceptance. We will also share practical skills for fostering self-compassion and emotional safety within ourselves and in our communities and identify campus and community support resources.

Learning objectives:

  • Identify some of the challenges that students may experience with transition and change
  • Gain an understanding of self-compassion and its components (mindfulness, common humanity and self-kindness)
  • Discover self-compassion practices to better cope with transition and other stressors
  • Find campus and community support resources
