The place of the Indigenous voice in the 21st century
Inside the verbs, pronouns, articles of the world's Aboriginal languages are the keys to the planet's long-term survival. Western languages hold that nature died at mankind's eviction from a garden. Aboriginal languages refute this - to them, nature has a soul, the planet is a garden. Kill those languages and hat vision - and the planet - would die.
National Aboriginal Day celebrates the unique heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding achievements of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples in Canada.
From June 21 to 28, 2014, scholars, artists, activists and students will unite in Montreal to investigate the aesthetic, social, and choreographic techniques that transform political ideas into collective images, through actions, embodied utterances and ways of being.
