This talk focuses on some new forms of digital activism in the early history of the COVID-19 pandemic in China to explore the meanings of citizen activism in times of global crises. The main questions to be examined include the persistence of everyday activism, the role of digital storytelling, and the relationship of citizen activism to self, society, and the state.
