Lauren Salim

 

Lauren Salim is a project officer at the Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies currently working on the project ‘Canadian Coalition to Counter COVID Digital Disinformation’. She holds a B.A. in International Development Studies from Dalhousie University and is working on her M.A. in Human Rights at the University of London’s School of Advanced Studies.  She is particularly interested in digital rights including access to information, as well as the polarizing effects of online hate, misinformation, and propaganda and their role in exacerbating offline conflicts. Lauren is also a coordinator of the Alliance Against Genocide and a contributor focusing on eastern Africa at Genocide Watch.
