The user-managed machines in H 805 are Capstone user-managed machines that have the standard dual-boot ENCS cut. The lab is maintained by the ECE technician responsible for the labs' accounts, software installation, etc.

- Restart the computer to delete all of your personal data before leaving the lab. Failure to do so will allow other users to see your work.

FAQ
ENCS computer labs are located in the Hall and the EV buildings. Users require a valid ENCS account to access the computers and to receive the lab door codes. The labs in the EV building are research labs (i.e. non-teaching labs), restricted to graduate students and research visitors. Lab reservations can only be requested by ENCS faculty and staff.
For reservations in the Hall building, there are two categories:

One-Time Reservations
- This type of reservation can be done by making a request via the Service Desk. Please provide the purpose, duration, location and person(s) responsible for the booking. Upon confirmation of the reservation, the lab will be reserved for the day and time of the event.
To start up, a variety of passwords (e.g. CMOS, root, user, and bootloader passwords) will be given to you by the lab monitor, as needed.
NOTE: Do not change the CMOS password. If you change the CMOS password, the PC will need to be opened to reset it manually.
- In rooms H833/H835/H837/H842/H854: press the F12 key and select network. All users can do this.
- In rooms H857/H805/H907-1/H911: the rebuild must be performed by an IT analyst.
NOTE: Your PC will be completely re-installed if you do this, resulting in all data loss. As such, when a group of students working on a project is assigned one machine, other students should not tamper in any way with another team's computer. You are also entirely responsible for backing up any data on these machines. The University or the IT team are not responsible for any data loss unless explicitly specified.
