Theatre has established living guidelines to address urgent social issues and to ensure that students, staff and faculty can work and create together in a respectful, sensitive manner.

Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility

The Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility Committee worked to create a living document addressing oppression and systemic racism in our institution and classrooms.

Commitment to sustainable practices

Theatre acknowledges the severity and urgency of the climate crisis. We recognize that artistic creation can result in negative ecological impact.

Guidelines on consent in staging difficult and/or sensitive content

Theatre takes consent seriously, especially when it comes to asking anyone – especially a student – to participate in staging potentially difficult and/or sensitive content.

Safe, respectful workplace statement

All members of Theatre's community are expected to engage with the spirit of professional theatre practice: a commitment to hard work and high-quality results, in an environment of courteous, respectful behaviour.

Accessibility statement

Theatre aims to be a place where everyone has equitable opportunities to work, learn, collaborate, and play. We are striving to make our spaces, teaching, and activities as accessible and inclusive as possible.

Committees

Faculty and students participate in committees that cover a variety of issues, from overseeing the development of public performances to ensuring research is conducted ethically, and developing equity and diversity policies.

The Committee for EDIA mediates and advocate for students during conflicts and provides learning opportunities for Faculty members.
