Studios & equipment


Registered Music students* are eligible to use the studios. To request a studio booking, please visit the Webcheckout Patron Portal Calendar (formerly PIR).  Note: Priority for studio bookings is given to those students who are registered in courses that require the studios for class lectures and or class projects.   

Practice Rooms

Practice rooms are available for music students to use throughout the academic year. Most practice rooms contain pianos but some are customized for jazz practice with drum kits, guitar and bass amplifiers.

Electroacoustic Studios:

The Department of Music maintains several electroacoustic studios, including a 24-track recording studio in the Oscar Peterson Concert Hall. Contact the MB Depot (see right sidebar) for more information on studios and studio use.

*NOTE: Music Department studios, practice rooms, pianos and equipment are reserved strictly for Music students registered in Music courses.

Non-music students

Non-Music students should visit the Dean of Students page for information on the university Music Room.


The Department of Music offers students the use of equipment outside of the classroom including microphones, amps, instruments, music stands, and musical scores. 

Registered music students are invited to request equipment by visiting the depot in person. To find Depot contact information, see right sidebar. To see Depot hours of operation, visit the CDA site.
