World-renowned expert on Jewish and Christian apocryphal literature and the Historical Jesus, Pierluigi Piovanelli (University of Ottawa) will explore the questions and ideas which gave rise to Jesus-of-History research through the work of three intellectual giants from the 19th and 20th century: Ernest Renan, Albert Schweitzer, and Rudolf Bultmann.
