On June 23,  2017 IDLG Project Coordinator Charlie O’Connor spoke with Reagan Tarbell, Executive Director of the Kanienkehaka Onkwawenna Raotitiohkwa Language and Cultural Center (KORLCC) in Kahnawake.

In this interview, she speaks about her motivations for working with the Cultural Centre, and describes some of language classes and other activities there. As part of a broader, volunteer-based community effort, the KORLCC is helping organize to host the Walking with our Sisters installation at the Kateri School in Kahnawake, July 5th to 12th, 2017. Tarbell emphasizes that the installation is open to everyone, Native and non-Native, and invites everyone to approach it with an open mind, and an open heart. She also describes the installation as a memorial that is steeped in ceremony and protocol.
