Facilities Management is carrying out electrical maintenance in the Henry F. Hall (H) Building that requires shutting down regular power to the upper floors.

To safely complete this work, access restrictions will be in place between Saturday, November 29 at 6 a.m. and Sunday, November 30 at 4 p.m.

During this shutdown:

  • Regular power, main lighting and ventilation will be shut down from the fourth floor to the 14th floor. These upper levels will remain closed for the duration of the interruption.
  • All floors from the second sub-basement up to and including the third floor will stay open.
  • Building access will be restricted to the Bishop Street entrance for the duration of the interruption.
  • Campus Safety and Prevention Services will monitor access to ensure no one enters the affected upper-floor areas.
  • Power will be temporarily restored overnight from Saturday to Sunday to reduce impacts on equipment such as refrigerators and freezers. The exact timing will depend on progress made on Saturday.

All classrooms, study areas, labs, service points and common spaces located on the closed floors will be unavailable. Campus Safety and Prevention Services and Facilities Management personnel will be on-site throughout the shutdown to support the work and maintain restricted access where required.

Given the Hall Building’s role as a major campus hub, Concordia is making every effort to complete this maintenance as efficiently and safely as possible.
