Geoff Dover named Concordia’s interim dean of graduate studies

Concordia has appointed Geoff Dover as interim dean of graduate studies for a one-year term. He will play a key role at the School of Graduate Studies in Concordia’s efforts to attract, retain and support top-talent graduate students.
Dover replaces Faye Diamantoudi, who was recently appointed interim provost and vice-president, academic. Dover previously served as associate dean of graduate student academic matters and postdoctoral studies.
“I’m honoured to take on this role at Concordia and to continue working closely with our exceptional faculty, staff and students,” Dover says. “Graduate students are a key part of Concordia’s academic community and supporting their success is a top priority at the School of Graduate Studies. I look forward to helping create even more opportunities for them to collaborate and thrive.”

Meet the new dean
Dover is an associate professor of health, kinesiology and applied physiology. Before joining the Concordia community in 2008, Dover was the director of the Graduate Athletic Training program at the University of Florida, where he earned his PhD.
Dover’s research explores why some individuals feel more pain than others and how increased pain perception affects recovery from injuries and daily function in both athletes and the general population. He is a Certified Athletic Therapist and a Certified Athletic Trainer.
Dover is also an affiliate member with the Centre de recherche interdisciplinaire en réadaptation du Montréal métropolitain (CRIR) and Concordia's School of Health.
