Interim dean announced for the Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science

Mourad Debbabi will step into the role on May 1, 2020

Concordia’s Board of Governors has appointed Mourad Debbabi interim dean of the Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science yesterday evening effective May 1, 2020.

Having joined Concordia in 2003, Debbabi is currently the associate dean research and graduate studies at the Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science. He is a professor in the Concordia Institute for Information Systems Engineering, one of the Gina Cody School’s departments. He holds the NSERC/Hydro-Québec Thales Senior Industrial Research Chair in Smart Grid Security and the Honorary Concordia University Research Chair Tier I in Information Systems Security.

The current dean of the Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science, Amir Asif, will be leaving Concordia on May 1, 2020, to take on the role of vice-president of research and innovation at York University in Toronto, Ontario.

The search for a new dean will be launched shortly.
