1. Fountain fantasies

This month, the water fountain at Complexe Desjardins will come alive in stunning fashion as the entire ground floor of the mall transforms into an immersive, multi-sensory spectacle. Music, light and magic converge at specific times, turning the everyday into the extraordinary. 

Make sure you’re at the right place at the right time.

2. A winter village

The Olympic Park’s Winter Village is back for a sixth year, offering plenty of outdoor activities sure to enthrall cold-weather enthusiasts, such as skating and sliding. Add to that an outdoor bar, a heated restaurant area and onsite rental facilities. Special events run the gamut from horse-drawn sleighs to live musical performances. There’s something for everyone!

3. Park parties

Noël Dans Le Parc | Place Emilie-Gamelin, Parc des Compagnons de Saint-Laurent, Parc Lahaie | December 1 - 25

This month, three parks across Montreal will transform into free outdoor entertainment venues as part of the Noël Dans Le Parc festival. Enjoy more than a hundred free musical performances and activities as well as a smattering of tasty food stuffs and plenty of coziness (think roasting marshmallows over an open fire).

4. A classical Christmas concert

Série Noël à l'orgue | Saint Joseph's Oratory | Dec. 24 at 10:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m and Dec. 31 at 3:30 p.m.

It may be one of the best kept secrets in Montreal, but practically every Sunday afternoon throughout the year you can catch a free, quality concert at the Saint Joseph’s Oratory. This month, la Série Noël à l'orgue puts the giant instrument front and centre, with world-class musicians invited to play classical and original organ pieces on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, in celebration of the holidays.

5. Go window shopping

Throughout December, shopkeepers on Montreal’s iconic Mont-Royal Avenue will dress up their windows with beautifully crafted holiday displays in an annual contest to see who is the best decorator. Go for a walk, do some window shopping, and be sure to vote for your favorite display!
