Concordia’s 2010 Centraide campaign was a great success. The bake sales, spaghetti lunches and other efforts across the university raised $192,097, surpassing the $185,000 target set for the year.

Each year, Concordia participates in the campaign that raises funds for Centraide, an umbrella organization that supports groups that help people living in poverty.

The 2010 campaign was launched on September 28, led by Bram Freedman, Secretary General and Vice-President External Relations. Similar campaigns are held in companies and institutions across the country (outside of Quebec under the name the United Way). For the first time, Concordia’s success earned it a spot among the top 50 campaigns in the province.

The Centraide campaign of Greater Montreal raised more than $55 million.
