Speaking Out for Seniors
Posted on February 9, 2018

Shannon Hebblethwaite, Associate Professor of Applied Human Sciences, focuses on research questions related to experiences of community integration for older adults - especially those with mental health issues. She is also the Director of Concordia’s engAGE: Center for Research and Aging.

Recently, Professor Hebblethwaite worked with Concordia’s ACT Project to produce and release an open letter to Montreal’s mayor Valerie Plante which indicated the many ways in which the city’s consultation process for the Municipal Action Plan for Seniors 2018-2020 was inherently inaccessible to seniors. The letter was widely shared and reported on in the city’s broadcast and print media including the Montreal Gazette.
