Mourad Debbabi

Ukraine cyber-attack

Mourad Debbabi, professor & Tier I Concordia Research Chair in the Concordia Institute for Information Systems Engineering (CIISE) was interviewed on various Radio Canada platforms for his perspective on the newly-detected cyber-attack that originated in Ukraine and has spread globally, hitting banks, government IT systems, energy firms and others. Debbabi also commented recent developments involving efforts to counter cyber-attacks, including the establishment by Facebook, Microsoft, YouTube and Twitter of the Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism: 'Le Téléjournal de Radio Canada' (re-broadcast from a live interview that opened the 9 pm edition of Téléjournal RDI); last evening's Radio Canada program 'L'heure du monde' (the Debbabi interview opens the program, at the 18:01 mark, through the second link on the show page). Debbabi was also interviewed for local and regional radio newscasts on the Radio Canada network.
