Predicting rail disasters with math

The research of Ming Yuan Chen, professor, and Oman Abuobidalla, PhD student in the Department of Mechanical, Industrial and Aerospace Engineering, was featured in a Canadian Press article. The duo developed a mathermatical model that could help prevent rail disasters such as the one that occured four years ago in Lac Mégantic.
