Expert commentators
Concordia faculty and researchers are regularly asked to offer expert, informed opinions on many of today's most pressing problems. Read some of the latest news items about Concordians:
- Sandra Chang-Kredl, assistant professor of education in the Faculty of Arts and Science, appeared on CBC Montreal's 6 pm news yesterday for a segment on new guidelines in public daycares involving rough play. Chang-Kredl is seen at the 7:33 mark. The text version of the CBC story is here.
- Daniel Douek, part-time professor of political science in the Faculty of Arts and Science, was interviewed on CJAD Radio yesterday (no link available) about the recent U.S. air strikes on a Syrian airfield and the different signals Donald Trump is sending. Douek co-wrote an opinion piece in The Globe and Mail last week about the heightened risk of global war in the wake of the action.
- Pascale Biron, professor in the Department of Geography, Planning and Environment in the Faculty of Arts and Science, is signatory to an open letter in Le Huffington Post Québec. The author calls on the government of Quebec to declare June "water month", to sensitize Quebecers to the importance and fragility of water resources.
- Kyle Matthews, executive director of the Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies (MIGS) at Concordia, is quoted from an earlier Radio Canada International interview about the U.S. missile strike against Syria and the resulting potential for confrontation with Russia: Alive For Football.
