Expert commentators

Concordia faculty and researchers are regularly asked to offer expert, informed opinions on many of today's most pressing problems. Read some of the latest news items about Concordians:

  • Isabelle Dostaler, management professor at the John Molson School of Business and academic director of Concordia's new Aviation Think Tank, spoke with Michel C. Auger on Radio Canada's Midi Info, last Friday, about the latest wave of layoffs at Bombardier. The Dostaler segment begins at the 58:45-mark.
  • LaPresse.ca reprises an earlier piece from La Presse + co-written by Jean-Philippe Warren, sociology professor in the Faculty of Arts and Science and Concordia Chair for the Study of Québec, and Jack Jedwab, executive vice-president of the Association for Canadian Studies. Warren and Jedwab analyze the results of a Léger Marketing survey, according to which more Quebecers view a diploma from an anglophone university as promising than see promise in a diploma from a francophone university. The survey was commissioned by the Concordia Chair for the Study of Québec and the Association for Canadian Studies.
  • András B. Göllner, professor emeritus of Political Science in the Faculty of Arts and Science, and Gabor Szilasi, professor emeritus of photography, are quoted in a Montreal Gazette article about Montrealers marking the 60th anniversary of the Hungarian uprising. It notes that Göllner is organizing an event on November 4 to mark the anniversary.
  • VICE posts a video piece on a recent talk by music producer Just Blaze to rapper Yassin Alsalman's hip hop culture class at Concordia.
  • Independent Sports News reports that Concordia assistant wrestling Coach David Zilberman has joined Canadian wrestlers as team leader at the International University Sports Federation world wrestling championship opening tomorrow in Turkey.
