Montreal's Metro turns 50

Craig Townsend, associate professor in the Department of Geography, Planning and Environment in the Faculty of Arts and Science, is quoted in the first of a four-part series in the Montreal Gazette marking the 50th anniversary of the Montreal Metro. Townsend finds fault with the current plan to integrate a proposed light-rail project for the Montreal region with the existing Metro system. The piece is reprised by Canada.com. Townsend was also quoted in the final installment of the series where he talks about the challenges of expanding the Metro in a context of urban sprawl: Montreal Gazette.
