France bans after hours e-mail
Last week in France, labour unions and a federation of engineering and consulting firms in France signed a legally binding labour agreement that will require employers to make sure staff “disconnect” outside of working hours. This means employees cannot be expected to check work related e-mails once they leave the office. Steven Appelbaum, professor in the Department of Management, can share his expertise on what this change could mean for Canadian workers and whether this policy could help reduce burnout among employees.
