It is with the greatest sadness that the Department of Studios Arts announces the death of Daniel Oxley, a comrade and fellow artist, on June 19, 2020. Oxley passed away in Montreal after a hard struggle with cancer.

Those who knew Oxley have lost a friend and an ally. He was an accomplished painter, a devoted teacher and a mind of high order. It will be impossible to forget his probity, his truthfulness and his laughter. His students will treasure his insight, his dedication and his wit. The many lovers of his art will be fortunate to have a lasting proof of his painterly intelligence and his force.

And those who worked and taught for decades alongside Oxley will be heartbroken to say farewell to a beloved colleague.
