Drama Therapy prof awarded grant as co-investigator for research project on preventative health
LTA Lecturer in Drama Therapy Simon Driver’s proposed research project: Storytelling: Performance Paths towards Truth was selected as a winner of the Joint Faculty of Fine Arts and PERFORM Centre Call for Multidisciplinary Research/Research-Creation Proposals in Preventative Health. Along with co-investigator Prof. Shawn Wilkinson (Applied Human Sciences), Prof. Driver will explore how 1st generation immigrant senior storytellers respond to witnessing their personal stories performed through two unique theatre approaches: verbatim monologue and collective creation. Concordia collaborators on the project include Dr. Luis Carlos Sotelo Castro (Theatre), Prof. Bonnie Harnden (Creative Arts Therapies) and Dr. Janis Timm-Bottos (Creative Arts Therapies).
