  • Initiative of the Institut international des droits de l’homme (Institut René Cassin) and the Fondation Friedrich Naumann. The event brought together lawyers, judges, law enforcement officer, civil society actors and governmental actors.
  • Among the topics covered: principles of humanitarian law, investigation mechanisms, current challenges in law and armed conflicts, torture and refugees.
  • According to organizer Sophie Konaté, Côte d’Ivoire is in a crucial transition. Challenges are important and must be addressed.
2. Affi N’guessan speaks out for Gbagbo’s release

  • It is the responsibility of the membership to fight for Gbagbo’s release, said N’guessan. Gbagbo’s candidacy is would unite the party and put pressure on the ICC.

  • According to witnesses, members of the FRCI (former rebels) and Bouaké expressed their disagreement with General Soumaïla Bakayoko.
