What does it mean to build an engineering career with purpose?

Part 1 of our Engineering with Purpose conversation explored What does it mean to engineer with purpose?  In part 2, we will explore deeper how to build a meaningful engineering career and how communication and self awareness skills can play a vital role in this process.

Join Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science alumni and friends to hear how they have developed rewarding, meaningful and purpose driven careers.  Find out how they got to where they are today, the experiences, relationships and decisions that shaped their careers, what their work looks like day to day and the skills and tools that helped them get there.

Together, we will consider:

πŸ“Œ How do you connect your engineering skills and interests with opportunities that matter to you?

πŸ“Œ What can your first job teach you about your strengths, interests and the kind of work you want to pursue?

πŸ“Œ How can networking, mentorship and relationships influence the direction of your career?

πŸ“Œ What role do communication skills, self-awareness and considering different perspectives from our own play in building a meaningful career with purpose?

πŸ“Œ How can you find opportunities to create meaningful impact beyond your job title?

πŸ“Œ How can you make career decisions when you don't have the full picture of where you want to go?

πŸ“Œ How can you make career decisions with both purpose and practicality in mind?
