Money decisions don’t happen in a vacuum – and they’re rarely one-size-fits-all. In this hands-on, team-based bootcamp, you’ll learn how to design a financial strategy that fits real life, using tools you can actually take action on.
Working in small teams, you’ll tackle a real-world financial goal – like buying a first home, planning for retirement, starting a family or building flexibility for an uncertain future – and build a strategy using a TFSA as your primary tool. Along the way, you’ll explore risk, asset allocation, contribution planning, and when different registered accounts (TFSA, RRSP, RESP, FHSA) make sense.
Short teaching moments, guided activities and personalized feedback will help you move from “I should probably figure this out” to “I know how to get started.” You’ll also learn how to use AI thoughtfully to support financial planning and decision-making.
No prior financial knowledge required – just curiosity and a willingness to try.
Facilitators: Jay Kamlia, CPA, CIM, MBA, Wealth Advisor & Sam Oubadia, CFA, MBA, Lecturer - Department of Finance, JMSB
