Practicing active bystander intervention

This workshop focuses specifically on the importance of intervening when we hear and/or see violence in order to build a safe and supportive community. Participants will discuss the many barriers faced when intervening and strategies to overcome these barriers. Using scenarios and thought-provoking discussion questions, groups can expect to engage in robust dialogue.

Facilitator Bio

Mark Underwood develops, delivers and evaluates SARC’s in–person and online education and training on sexual violence prevention and response. Mark holds a Master’s Degree in Human Systems Intervention from Concordia’s Department of Applied Human Sciences and has years of experience facilitating a range of topics.
