The Holy Grail Narthex of the Apostolic Johannite Church invites us as they work with the ancestors and remember those we've lost at our Day of the Dead/Working With Ancestors meeting in honour of All Soul's Day. Our Mexican Canadian members will be constructing a traditional Day of the Dead shrine and we'll have a brief ritual and meditation revolving around connecting with our ancestors and those we've lost--and then have a discussion on the topic as well as reflect on this magical time of the year when the veil between the worlds seems the thinnest.
We'll meet at the McGill Office of Religious and Spiritual Life at 5:45 pm, share some snacks, and travel together to their meeting space at Integral Yoga Studio at 5425 Parc. Please be on time, as MORSL's building closes at 6 pm. Bring a bus pass or money for a bus ticket.
Participate in this sacred site visit and at least two others this academic year and complete a reflection to build you capacity for religious literacy and ear recognition on your Co-Curricular Record. More details will be sent to participants via email.
Accessibility notes: The Holy Grail Narthex's meeting place is accessing by stairs. Vegetarian snacks will be served at the McGill Office of Religious and Spiritual Life before we leave. Please email mfsc@concordia.ca with any accessibility needs, dietary restrictions or questions.
