The primary purpose of this event is to walk the interested audience through designing in an effort to persuade. By combining game design elements and persuasive strategies into real-life digital applications, gamification motivates people to carry out mundane tasks. Health, productivity, education, etc., are all areas where it is used and people need additional motivation to follow through.

Worthy of consideration is that people with different cultural backgrounds can be motivated differently. The principal investigator of this research will talk about Persian culture at this event and defines the parameters of gamification in Persian culture. Participants will be asked about how they motivate themselves and will receive gifts related to Persian culture in exchange for their participation.

This event is part of the MDES22 Research-Creation Show.

How can you participate? Attend the workshop in person (note, there is a maximum of 25 people permitted in the space).
