Social location refers to the social position a person holds within their society. It is based on social characteristics deemed critical by any given society.

Because social location expresses a person's place in the social world through how it situates them relationally, it is a life determining factor. Not only does it determine status, but it can also prevent a person from having status. In this workshop, participants will explore how their social location influences teaching practices and impacts the learning environment.

Please note that this event is currently at capacity. We thus encourage you to stay tuned for our Fall 2023 workshop series.
