Join us for a conversation with Line Rivard, MBA 87, Quebec’s former Agent General in London, whose career has spanned government, international business, investment banking, trade and diplomacy.
Moderated by Concordia President Graham Carr, Rivard will will offer a firsthand perspective on how Quebec advances its interests internationally through diplomacy, culture, trade and strategic partnerships. The conversation will explore the broader forces shaping our world and the leadership needed to navigate them.

This event launches the Henry Habib Diplomacy Accelerator, a pioneering program designed to prepare the next generation of diplomats and diplomacy professionals. It was created in honour of Professor Emeritus Henry Habib, thanks to a $6-million gift from the Wilson Foundation and friends.

Line Rivard, MBA 87
Line Rivard is a business leader, corporate director and former Agent-General of Québec in London. From 2021 to 2025, she represented Québec's interests in the U.K., Ireland and the Nordic countries, leading efforts to strengthen international trade, investment, economic development and cultural relations. In this role, she drew on decades of experience in finance, governance and business development to promote Québec's global interests and foster strategic international partnerships.
Prior to her diplomatic appointment, Rivard built a distinguished career in investment banking and corporate finance. She held senior leadership positions at BMO Capital Markets, where she advised organizations on corporate financing, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic growth initiatives. She also served as Special Advisor to the Governor of the Bank of Canada and has contributed her expertise as a director of major Canadian organizations, including Metro Inc. and Ivanhoé Cambridge, as well as numerous cultural and community institutions.
Rivard holds an MBA from Concordia's John Molson School of Business as well as a BA from the Université de Montréal. She has also completed executive education programs in corporate governance through McGill University and the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management.
