Our Sonic Visions Academy @ Mexico / New Music and Media Arts intensive summer program [3 credits] will offer undergraduate and graduate students from a variety of music and media arts backgrounds, as well as other fields of fine arts, communication, science, and engineering, an opportunity (a) to work on self-proposed research and creation -sound/media/contemporary/experimental art, and electronic music- projects; (b) to attend master classes and lectures on new media/electronic/sound art creation and contemporary music, and workshops-seminars on music & new media/sound art technology by world leaders in the field; (c) and to receive individual feedback/mentorship on their creative work by internationally recognized artists and tech experts.
The program will be held in Morelia, Mexico, mainly at the Mexican Centre for Music and Sound Arts facilities (CMMAS) in downtown Morelia, and the UNAM/ENES campus Morelia - the National Autonomous University of Mexico, or UNAM is the largest university in Mexico, with 41,000 academics and 356,000 students.
