On March 13, 2019, the Boeing 737 MAX was grounded after two crashes that resulted in 346 deaths.  The 737 Max was the longest grounded American commercial aircraft in aviation history.

On March 10, 2019, Danielle Moore along with 156 other passengers of flight ET302 lost their lives as the B737 MAX nose-dived in a farmer’s field outside Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.  In his ‘Icarus Effect’ presentation, Chris Moore, father of Danielle, speaks of how the B737 MAX tragedy has changed his family’s life and examines how investigations have left many unanswered questions.

Throughout the presentation, Mr. Moore discusses the known salient facts and asks the listeners to reflect upon the role of an engineer in the aerospace industry, and their responsibility towards public safety.
