Painting and Drawing

Responding happily to a compulsion to paint serially, my work is a reflection of the repetitive nature of working for a living. As I explore the nuances of serial art depicting preexisting motifs such as Peter Griffin or the McCafe logo, I reflect on the potential convergences created by manipulating these icons and consider their impact on the rhythm of our daily lives.

Sam Morgan (b. 1988) is a multidisciplinary artist from Campbell River, British Columbia. Sam went to North Island College in Courtenay (2006-2008). Sam then got his BFA at Emily Carr (2013). After graduating he created the gallery/workspace 420 Princess in the DTES of Vancouver and worked as a very fast bicycle courier. Sam now lives and works in Montreal.
