Jenn Boulay

Thesis supervisor: Owen Chapman

Jenn Boulay is an interdisciplinary artist and scholar. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto in Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies and Critical Studies in Equity and Solidarity. Her SSHRC funded MA Project maps D/deaf and Disability Arts scene in Montréal, Québec, and seeks to examine the barriers faced by the D/deaf and disability arts community. By mapping the terrain of D/deaf in Disability Arts in Montréal, she hopes to understand how disabled artists across Canada can better network and share resources and practices. Jenn’s other research interests include D/deaf and disability arts, theatre, theatrical clown, creating accessibility of theatre and performance for both performers and audiences, performance of aesthetic sport (gymnastics), and sound studies. You can find her work published in Knots: An Undergraduate Journal of Disability Studies, Feminist Space Camp Magazine, Theatre Research in Canada and Canadian Theatre Review, and UC Magazine. And she is an editor of Knots.
